Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Insound ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
1. Who we are
Insound Music Ltd is the data controller responsible for your personal data. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at privacy@getinsound.com.
2. What data we collect
We currently collect the following:
- Email address — when you register your interest via our waitlist form.
When the platform launches, we may also collect your name, payment information (processed by a third-party provider — we never store card details), and music files you upload.
3. How we use your data
- To send you updates about Insound's launch and early access — you consented when you submitted your email.
- We will not share your email with third parties for marketing.
- We will not send you spam. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your email address on the basis of your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing privacy@getinsound.com.
5. How long we keep your data
We will keep your email address until you unsubscribe, or until 12 months after Insound's public launch, whichever comes first — at which point we will delete or anonymise it unless you have created an account.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate data.
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the ICO at ico.org.uk.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@getinsound.com and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies
We use localStorage in your browser to remember whether you have already joined the waitlist, so we do not show you the form again. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels at this time.
8. Third-party services
Our site loads fonts from Google Fonts and avatar images from DiceBear. These services may set their own cookies or collect limited technical data (e.g. IP address) as part of serving their assets. We recommend reviewing Google's Privacy Policy for details.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively reduce your rights without notifying you by email.
